Barefoot running
I'm not a health freak. But running barefoot has gotten my attention. I've been running in minimalist shoes since March 2010. I have the Vibram Five Fingers KSOs. They are great. This summer, my running slacked off dramatically as the heat rose, and I regret that. I have tried to pick back up since mid-September. After seeing the MovNat videos, I'm really inspired to try actually running barefoot, without the minimalist shoes. Even now, running more than 4 miles is a stretch for me. Running bare footed for more than one or two would probably kill me! So I will do as all the barefoot running proponents suggest, and really "listen" to my body.
I'm also going to have more fun, as Erwan La Corre does in his videos. What a cool idea of exercise. It really is just what I enjoy, walking, running, jumping into the water, climbing, exploring, and doing some useful trail cleanup as I go. No more "tempo runs". I'm going to really enjoy the wild areas I have here in VA, and get down into the Rivanna, climb up the hills, and have fun when I go out on the trails.
